OpenBack Alliances, Diplomacy, and Clans Guide
Use alliances, clan identity, communication, and border planning effectively in OpenBack multiplayer.
Build alliances around shared interests
A useful alliance gives both players security, time, or leverage against a common threat. Use the safer border to grow elsewhere, but keep watching it as the map changes.
Coordinate clan play
A clan provides shared identity, not automatic strategy. Agree on starting areas, economic roles, targets, and which player will invest in specialized infrastructure before a team match begins.
Send actionable messages
Useful communication names a player, location, timing, or action. A warning about an aircraft approaching a specific area is more useful than a general danger message. Keep messages short enough to read while controlling the map.
